ACADEMIC COURSE

The Primary objective of the offering the academic courses in this institution is to provide a flexible and systematically developed educational opportunity to all those who cannot cope with the regular school subjects and curriculum. NIOS has special concern for education of girls and women, rural youth, working man / women, backward and SC /St Community, handicapped persons and slow learners.

The four common distinctive features if NIOS are:

• Reaching out with education to the disadvantage population group in dispersed locations where conventional schools are not viable. We at DBMS Career Academy also register student, from Mosabani, Ghatshila, Kiruburu 7 Joda.
• Providing a choice to student (and their parents) for what they want to learn. At the secondary (10) level we provide fifteen subjects and a student can choose any five. At the Senior Secondary level (12) the choice is between 20 subjects.
• Providing a safety net to school dropouts so they do not lapse into illiteracy. Here we have Std -9 failed students. Some have had a break in the school career over age is not a problem minimum age is 14 years.
• The fourth and the most important feature is a student registered with NIOS his / her registration is valid for five year, there is credit accumulation system and the question Papers are bilingual (English / Hindi).
